Five on Friday: Summer Edition

Hey everyone, Happy Friday! Today I'm sharing some current faves with you guys. As you can tell from my last few posts I have been on a shopping spree lately :) I blame Mark because when he's gone I like to shop hah! Kidding, kidding!

San Dog

I was in San Diego this past weekend and had the best time! I promise I will post more about that next week in a full recap of my trip. I miss my girlfriends so much but I'm so thankful for the time we had together.

Fave Book

Amazon

What would a Five on Friday be without a book recommendation?? I loved the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. My friend Kayla recommended it and I flew through the book. It's an easy read but keeps you wanting more until the very end.

New Sneaks

DSW

I picked up these sneakers while I was in San Diego and I really like them. I'm super weird about wearing tennis shoes with jeans but I will make an exception when they look cute (and not like work out shoes) and I'm not actually wearing them to work out lol. This lilac color is perfect because it's more of a blush and very neutral. I see myself wearing these a ton to school this year, especially this fall.

Amazon Steal

Amazon

Buying bathing suits is one of my least favorite things to do. :( NOT FUN! But when I see a good deal, I jump at it! This was not apart of Prime Day but one of my fave bloggers posted about it and I decided to give it a try. I purchased a large in this off the shoulder tropical version and it fits perfectly.   It sucks you in without feeling tight and uncomfortable and the off the shoulder and ruffle detail draws the eye up, which I'm a huge fan of :)

The white with the palm fronds is my fave but I was skeptical about how this inexpensive white suit would hold up when you get it wet. So that's why I opted for the darker color. I paid $13 for this suit and now it's currently $14.99, still crazy reasonable and worth the try!

 Mini Travel Regimens

You guys know how much I love my R+F products so I have to share this amazing deal going on right now. One of my most frequently asked questions (when it comes to R+F) is do they have a travel sized version? Sadly, we don't sell them but every now and then they will release the mini travel sizes in some kind of promotion. I have had several of the Redefine travel regimens and they last me forever which is crazy because they are small (and TSA approved!). Well right now you can get any of the four regimens in travel size when you purchase a full sized regimen. Such a steal! If you have thought about trying out some new skincare, let's chat about what could work for you.

Here is the link to the solution tool. It takes less than a minute to complete and can help narrow down some skincare options that are specific to your needs. I'm giving away a few free Microdermabrasion paste packets (one of my fave products!) for anyone who completes the solution tool today. Just comment below with your results, or comment on FB or Instagram and I'll enter you to win!

Prime Day Picks

Today is the day.... Amazon Prime Day! I love a good deal and between the Nordstrom sale and the Amazon deals popping up, my wallet is taking a hurtin'. Here is a list of my top pics... some items are things that we have already and some are on my wish list. Happy shopping!

Books

Amazon

I have heard so many good things about this book so I was excited to scoop this up today. Certain books are an extra 50% off at checkout so it brought the price down to $5! Go get this now before it sells out!

Amazon

This was a favorite book of mine from last year. If you haven't read it yet, then do it now! It's also on super sale!

Amazon

Such a cute book! I love this story and have several copies in my classroom. Scoop this up to read to your kiddos or teacher friends, get it for your class!

Amazon

This is on my "to-read" list so I am contemplating getting it today too. It's a lightning deal so only available for a short period of time. I've heard it's great though!

Kitchen

amazon

We bought an espresso machine several years ago but haven't used it much because of the mediocre quality in general and the milk frother isn't great either.  I really just love a good frothy coffee without the espresso so want to pick up this little guy, plus it's so inexpensive!

Amazon

I am still on the fence about the Instant Pot but everyone raves about them! This one is on sale so I might pull the trigger and just get one. Do you have one? How do you like it??

Amazon
This is another item that I have been eyeing for awhile. It cooks your meat perfectly while keeping it tender and delicious! I might just have to add this to my cart.

Amazon
These battery-operated salt and pepper grinders are awesome! They are super inexpensive too!

Random

Amazon
We are debating between a ring doorbell or investing in a keyless entry with a camera included. Any advice between the two? My parents have a ring doorbell and really like it. I would just like one with the keyless entry included as well.

Amazon
Here is the other option.

Hope you find some goodies!

Five on Friday

Happy Friday!! I hope you all had a great week and have something awesome planned for this weekend. I have book club tonight, which I love, so I am excited! Lets jump in!

Spring is in the Air

Finally, it's starting to feel more like spring around here. Last weekend, we cleaned up our front planters and added some spring blooms. Can't wait to see what it looks like when the perennials come back!

Fringe Life

Koa Sandals

I have a major thing for fringe. I just think it's adorable :) I recently bought these Sole Society sandals and I can't wait to bust them out. The color is a perfect neural and they are pretty comfy (as far as I can tell). I also love the Vista Blue color but I figured I would get more wear out of the caramel.

The Coziest Sweatshirt

Check it out here- the pic isn't doing it justice! So cute!

I purchased this swing sweatshirt from Old Navy a few weeks ago and I've worn it so many times already. I LOVE how comfy it is and it's so easy to throw on for a casual day. I actually found it in the athletic section but I think it's cute with jeans too. I actually have the more purpley-gray color but I couldn't find it online.

New Obsession

Mark has been raving about the Red Rising series for months now but I really thought it wasn't something I would be into. Science Fiction isn't my jam but I finally gave in and WHOA I'm so obsessed with these books. We listened to the first book while on our road trip and then I read the 2nd book. It was actually really nice listening to the first book because I could hear how everything is pronounced lol. There are so many weird words in that book that I would have NO idea how to pronounce otherwise.

I would say the book is a cross between Hunger Games, Delirium, and the Divergent series. It's pretty violent but doesn't make me cringe like some of the thrillers I usually read :)

Spring Bundle

As most of you know, I have a side gig with Rodan+ Fields. I LOVE sharing about the products and business but don't always share in this space. This is too good of a deal not to tell you about it though. Right now they have released a spring bundle that includes the Intensive Renewing serum, the Lip Renewing Serum, and Multi-function Eye Cream. All three can be added on to any regimen or used on their own. They are in my weekly (some even daily) rotation. Plus they are 25% off when bundled together :) Let me know if you have any questions or want more details!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Five on Friday: Current Wish List

Hey everyone! Happy Friday! It was finally starting to feel like fall this week and I wore my first scarf of the season. {Insert a happy dance here!} It was back up into the high 70s today but still feels better than 90! This has been a doozy of a week and I am looking forward to some down time. Mark is back this weekend too so I can't wait to see him!

With the change of a season always brings shopping to the mind. I love an excuse to throw together some new outfits and all the cute bloggers out there have gotten me excited about fall clothes. I have racked up quite the wish list but I narrowed it down to 5 items today.

Green sweater
Slouchy tan sweater
Plaid Cape
Crossbody purse
Slip-on sneakers
I am in LOVE with these slip-on Caslon sneakers. I think the color is a great neutral and these are an easy shoe to throw on for any casual outfit. I don't know how practical they are going into the winter but I'm all about them for fall.

So to be totally honest, I just ordered the plaid cape pictured above. I am going to New York in a few weeks and I think it will be perfect to throw on. Plus who can resist this gray plaid??

My fall go-to outfit is usually a tee, a long sweater, skinny jeans, and ankle boots. It's so easy and always looks cute! This green sweater is the perfect fall color and will spruce up any neutral outfit.

I'm on the hunt for a new bag. I use my Longchamp bag every single day but want to change it up a bit. This saddlebag is a great neutral but the print is a little different at the same time. Also, I love the color!

This slouchy sweater doesn't look like much in the picture above but one of my favorite bloggers, Emily,  posted pics in it and I love how it can be oversized enough to wear off the shoulder.

Have a great weekend!

Current Trend: Off the Shoulder

Blue gingham  |  Blue  |  Taupe

I have been loving all the off the shoulder/ cold shoulder tops. There are so many options out there so I have compiled some of my faves, including this adorable floral dress. I like that it highlights an area that most women feel confident about and can be flowy on the bottom to hide the other parts haha :) I am all about flowy tops!

I just recently purchased the blue and white striped top (center of the top row) from the Loft and I love it! It's so comfy and looks really cute on. It's hard to tell the fit in this picture, but you get the idea ;)

I think the long-sleeve versions are a great way to transition into spring. Most nights are still cool enough that I want my arms covered, so this top is perfect! It would also look cute with colored jeans, like a coral or yellow.

Feeling the Blues

Top row- left to right:  One  |  Two |  Three
Bottom row- left to right:  One  |  Two |  Three

I am pretty basic when it comes to my wardrobe. I love solid colors and stripes haha! There is also an abundance of blue in my closet but I just love it. I think navy blue looks good on everyone and it's so easy to pair with tan sandals or ankle boots.

I've been eyeing a lot of dresses lately because I'm ready for out typical San Diego weather to come back. It's already starting to feel like spring... hallelujah! I wanted to share some really cute things that I've found lately. Since, we aren't quite to dress weather, I would pair all of these dresses with a jean jacket. This one from Old Navy is a great price and fits really well.

The first dress on the top left is from Tobi.com and is sooo comfortable. This would be super cute with tan fringe ankle boots now and sandals in the summer. I also see this as a cute coverup for the beach.

The flowery dress is from Target and you can't go wrong with this cute print. I love the cold shoulder aspect and the cute ruffle of the sleeve too.

The bottom left is from the Loft and I got this about a month ago. I haven't worn it yet because my legs are so white lol. I need to use my R+F sunless tanner asap! I think this would be super cute dressed up a bit with fun earrings and wedges. I can't wait to wear this. Also, it's currently 40% off!

The embroidered dress has my name written all over it. I love the flowy shape of the dress but the top adds something different and fun. This is perfect for work because it has sleeves but would also be cute dressed down in some flip flops. This makes me want to go on vacation lol!

The last dress on the bottom right is also a Tobi dress. I love the inexpensive prices of their clothing but they are still pretty good quality. This dress caught my eye because of the tiered design. This is great for hiding the mid-section, without it looking like you're wearing a bag. I mean, I do love a good bag look lol but most people want to have a shape. The tie is adjustable too, so you can change the length and how much of your back is exposed.

Valentine's Date Night Outfit Inspiration

One   |   Two  |   Three
Four  |  Five  |  Six  |  Seven

Valentine's day is tomorrow! Can you believe it? I feel like it snuck up on me this year and to be honest, Mark is never here on Valentine's day so we rarely celebrate it anyways lol. I still think it's fun to put together a new outfit and go out with girlfriends, which is exactly what I plan on doing. Plus since I'm a teacher, we always celebrate at school. Who doesn't love cute little character valentines from kids??

As far as clothes go, I love the traditional pinks and reds for Valentine's day but in a more edgy way. I'm definitely not a pink girly-girl :) Adding in ripped jeans, peep-toe booties, and a leather jacket takes this date night look up a notch.

The first outfit idea is this off the shoulder sweater dress from Tobi.com. I like that it shows a little bit of your shoulders but it doesn't look like everything is hanging out lol. The dress was a little short on me so I paired it with the skinny jeans or even leather leggings would be super cute too. It's also really cozy and can be pulled up on the top, so it doesn't expose the shoulders. These leather leggings would also look great with the dress.

The next option is something a little more casual. The light pink color of the long-sleeved top is girly, fun, and an easy go-to. The peep-toe booties and earrings would jazz it up but would still be appropriate for a less fancy night out. I have the gray version of this shirt and I LOVE how comfortable it is to wear. The asymmetric top also adds a bit of interest. This necklace would also look super cute, if you wanted to ditch the earrings.

The last option is this fun peplum top from Nordstrom. I love the ruffles on the sleeves and the  overall flattering style. I have this top in black and wore it on my birthday. It is super comfortable but can be easily dressed up with fun earrings or a necklace. It is also the perfect length with the leather jacket and hits at a very flattering spot. Win win :)

What are you wearing for your Valentine's date night??

New Finds at the Loft

I went shopping this weekend with my friend Ashley and found some great items at the Loft. I LOVE this store for work clothes because the clothes are good quality and look professional. I found several items I wanted but limited myself to just two.

The first that I LOVED was this long sleeve shirt. It's pretty basic but looks cute with jeans and with black pants as well. I actually bought it in the heather blue color because neutrals are much more my thing. I want to go back and get it in this red though.

I wore it this weekend and even again yesterday because I love it so much. The material is stretchy and comfy, without being clingy at all. I was a little nervous about the slits on the side, showing some skin, but that didn't happen :) The best part was that it was 50% off! Woohoo!

excuse the awkward fitting room photos- I was sending these to Steph for girl approval :)

I also bought this dress. I thought it was transition well into spring and summer and in the meantime I could wear it with leggings, boots, and a jean jacket. I love everything to look like a big bag lol, I just hate clingy material! Also, the neutral color just speaks to me. This would be a cute valentine's day dress with some fun earrings and ankle boots!

Also, their Lou & Grey line is soon comfy! I LOVE this jacket, but not at full price lol. The 50% off deal in store is way better! Check out their sweaters and long sleeve tees as well, there are some good finds!
buy it here

That's it for my little round up of items at the Loft. I LOVE this store and especially love their jewelry as well! Have a great day!

Fall Lovin'

1. Chevron Necklace 2. Vince Camuto booties 3. Plaid Scarf 4. Bucket Bag 5. Faux Leather Jacket 6. Textured Cardigan

I love fall! I know I sound like the typical girl who squeals with delight at the thought of boots, scarves, pumpkin spice lattes, and comfy sweaters...but I can't help it! Living in San Diego doesn't give us the chance for a true fall but I can pretend, right?? Some of my favorite blogs have been posting outfit inspirations and I have been swooning over these Vince Camuto booties. They are a little expensive for my taste but seriously adorable! I follow EmilyAnnGemma (from The Sweetest Thing Blog) on Instagram and she just posted two really cute outfits with these booties. Maybe they will go on sale haha?? A girl can dream right?

I snagged these littles beauties during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and I'm super excited to wear them. I am definitely not a heel girl so booties make me feel like I'm dressing up without risking falling on my face. :) I wore the heck out of my maroon booties from Old Navy last year so I am so excited to have a more neutral color to wear this fall. Plus the zipper detail in the back is so cute and makes them easy to wear.

The chevron necklace would be a great layering piece for a basic tee and a long cardigan. Plus it's only $16! Perfect!

I saw the Bucket Bag at Old Navy last weekend and wanted to get it but for some reason I set it back down. They have a sale online right now for 25% off any amount, 30% off $75, and $35 off of $100. Maybe I will have to pick this bag up soon! It's a great neutral bag that is able to hold a ton of my junk! I tend to fill my purses with all kinds of things but lately I've been using a really small cross-body so I've had to be a minimalist. I'm ready for a bigger bag for sure!

Of course, I can't leave out the excitement I have that the Pumpkin Spice Latte is coming back! I tried a few different recipes at home this past year but they weren't as good. Can't wait to treat myself!

What are your favorite fall treats?? Any clothing items you can't wait to purchase?
